Job Description

Job Title: D365 Consultant
Location: Downtown Toronto (3x per week on-site)
Job Type: 9-month Contract to start

We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 (CRM/CE) Consultant to serve as a pivotal bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery team. Our client recently went live with a new enterprise CRM solution built directly on top of Microsoft Dynamics 365. As they enter post-launch stabilization and optimization, this role will lead critical rework initiatives, address post-implementation gaps, and guide the long-term solution roadmap. The technical delivery team is actively executing build work, but the project requires senior functional and configuration oversight. You will act as the solution anchor—guiding business leaders on how to best leverage standard D365 functionality, translating operational needs into clear functional specifications, and ensuring external/internal technical consultants align with architecture best practices.

Responsibilities:
Business Guidance & Adoption: Partner with department leads to understand operational bottlenecks post-go-live. Advise stakeholders on out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities versus custom builds to maximize platform value and minimize technical debt.
Technical Oversight & Governance: Provide functional leadership and oversight to technical consultants and developers. Review configurations, customizations, and proposed rework to ensure quality, performance, and alignment with business objectives.
Hands-on Configuration: Lead and execute core Dynamics 365 system configuration, including entities, fields, business rules, workflows, Power Automate cloud flows, model-driven apps, forms, views, and security role modeling.
Rework & Solution Remediation: Audit the recent go-live deployment, identify functional discrepancies or performance issues, and coordinate structured rework and optimization sprints.
Requirements & Solution Design: Translate ambiguous business requirements into robust functional designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and clear technical specifications for the build team.
Testing & Release Support: Define functional test cases, oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate changes prior to production release.

Qualifications:
Platform Expertise: 5+ years of practical experience implementing, configuring, and optimizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Sales, Customer Service, or Custom Model-Driven Apps).
Technical & Functional Balance: Demonstrated ability to understand the underlying data model, SDK extensions, and integration points while maintaining deep domain knowledge of core CRM processes (lead-to-opportunity, customer service/case management, lifecycle management).
Power Platform Proficiency: Solid hands-on experience using Power Apps (Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Dataverse environment administration.
Consulting & Leadership Skills: Proven track record in a lead or advisory capacity—guiding business stakeholders through change while steering technical teams on architecture and design standards.
Remediation Experience: Prior experience stepping into mid-flight projects, post-go-live stabilization phases, or system recovery/rework environments is highly preferred.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical business leaders and vice versa.
