Job Title: System Design Engineer
Location: New York (remote)
Job Type: Full-time Permanent position
Salary Range - $65K - 95K USD Base + potential sales incentives

Our client is seeking a versatile System Design Engineer to bridge technical expertise and system architecture for commercial digital signage deployments. In this role, you will leverage both on-site field experience and technical design skills to analyze scopes of work, research products, generate detailed system schematics, and create accurate estimates. Serving as a key pre- and post-sales technical resource, you will partner closely with sales, project management, and field engineering teams to design reliable, high-performing digital signage systems.

Responsibilities
System Architecture & Design: Translate client requirements and Scopes of Work (SOW) into comprehensive system plans, hardware specifications, and engineering diagrams.
Estimation & Product Research: Research hardware/software solutions, evaluate emerging display technology, and generate accurate bill-of-materials (BOM) and cost estimates.
Pre- & Post-Sales Technical Support: Act as the technical subject matter expert during sales discovery calls, client consultations, and post-sale technical handoffs to engineering teams.
Scope & Feasibility Analysis: Review site surveys and SOWs to identify site constraints, structural/electrical requirements, and technical risks prior to project kickoff.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with field engineers, project managers, and vendors to ensure designs are buildable, cost-effective, and aligned with client expectations.

Qualifications
Technical & Field Experience: Background in on-site AV/digital signage installation or field engineering combined with proven system design experience.
Digital Signage Expertise: Deep understanding of commercial displays, media players, signal distribution, content management systems (CMS), and network infrastructure.
LED Wall Experience (Huge Plus): Direct experience engineering indoor/outdoor LED video wall systems, direct-view LED architectures, and processing/control hardware (e.g., NovaStar).
Pre/Post-Sales Capabilities: Ability to evaluate technical scopes, generate detailed estimates, and present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Design & Documentation: Proficiency in generating system schematics, signal flow diagrams, and architectural plan layouts using tools like AutoCAD, Visio, or D-Tools.
