Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is looking for a hands-on and dependable Facilities Technician to maintain multiple manufacturing sites.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in manufacturing facilities who can handle general building maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, and contractor coordination. A personal truck is strongly preferred for transporting tools, parts, and equipment between sites.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general facility repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and minor repairs.
Replace HVAC filters, lightbulbs, door hardware, belts, and other components.
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, and other facility equipment.
Inspect facilities and identify issues before they become major problems.
Oversee contractors and vendors performing maintenance and repairs.
Help maintain outdoor areas, sprinkler systems, and seasonal services such as snow removal.
Assist with equipment moves, renovations, upgrades, and other facility projects.
Transport tools, parts, and equipment between sites.
Ensure facilities remain safe, clean, organized, and in good working order.
Qualifications
Experience in facilities or building maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
Knowledge of HVAC and facility equipment is an asset.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a self-starter mentality.
Ability to work independently and handle a variety of maintenance tasks.
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required; personal truck strongly preferred.
Ability to work at heights and perform physical maintenance duties.
