Job Title: React Native App Developer
Contract Duration: 6 months to start with performance-based extension
Our client is seeking a React Native App Developer to design, build, deploy, and operate cloud-native, containerized, event-driven applications on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Azure Container Apps, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, message brokers and queues, Docker/Podman, and application monitoring using Azure Application Insights, combined with deep knowledge of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and distributed systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship clients field and workforce apps on React Native / Expo (iOS first; Android when the product requires it).
- Own the mobile codebase through the full lifecycle: implementation, review, test, release, and production support.
- Implement Entra sign-in (MSAL) and additional identity providers as Architecture defines. Handle session, refresh, and sign-out on the device.
- Call product APIs through Azure API Management.
- Work inside the design system with UX. Implement loading, empty, error, and offline states so the app stays usable in the field.
- Design for a phone in a real job: one-handed use, gloves, and poor network. Show a clear status when the API is slow or unavailable.
- Keep secrets and environment-specific values on the server.
- Write and maintain automated tests for the flows that matter (sign-in, primary tasks, error paths). Debug on physical devices.
- Ship through the approved pipeline (EAS, TestFlight, or MDM). Support store or enterprise distribution as the landing zone enables it.
- Pair with the API team on contracts and with UX on components, accessibility, and copy.
- Participate in code review, sprint planning, and release readiness.
- Raise defects found in the field, reproduce them, and close the loop with product and support.
Qualifications:
- Shipped React Native (Expo preferred) to a store or MDM.
- TypeScript, native auth on iOS, REST against an API gateway.
- Comfort with a design system and on-device debugging.
- Recent Expo, field/workforce apps, EAS / TestFlight / MDM, accessibility.
