Job Title: Sr Full Stack Software Engineer
Duration: 1 Year Contract with strong chance of extension

Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with strong expertise in building scalable APIs, modern web applications, and cloud-native solutions. This role requires hands-on technical leadership & delivery, deep knowledge of event-driven architectures, and the ability to work iteratively in a highly agile environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement highly scalable APIs using best practices.
  • Build and maintain applications using React, NestJS, and Spring Boot.
  • Develop event-driven architectures and microservices for distributed systems.
  • Deploy and manage applications on Azure Container Apps, configure APIM, and implement CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps.
  • Use Bicep for IaC to automate cloud resource provisioning.
  • Work with Docker for containerized deployments.
  • Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Productively use secure AI tools for assisted development while adhering to compliance and security best practices.
  • Work iteratively in very agile environments, adapting to changing business priorities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver incremental value.
  • Hands-on delivery focused rather than waiting for complete requirements; delivering quickly and often.
  • Knowledge of using feature flags to deploy quickly.
  • Strong sense of shipping products to production instead of just development.
  • Building observable code using Azure monitoring and telemetry.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of extensive experience building scalable APIs.
  • 8+ years of modern web application development using React and Node.js frameworks (NestJS preferred)
  • Experience building scalable Spring Boot APIs.
  • Experience with security best practices for APIs.
  • Expertise in event-driven architecture and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures & container-based development.
  • Hands-on experience with Ideally Azure Container Apps, APIM, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps. (OR similar AWS stack)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Bicep or equivalent tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Pulumi.
  • Solid database knowledge (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Ability to pivot quickly based on incremental business requirements.
  • Strong sense of ownership is required.
  • Plan and manage code merges, branching strategies, and releases.
  • Write detailed deployment plans, support production deployments.
  • Ability to explain complex technical subjects, drive solution discussions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience building discounting rules engines.
  • Familiarity with TanStack for advanced React state management.
  • Producing technical design documents, solution option analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Balancing delivery vs. excellence, trade-offs, competing priorities
  • Technical Leadership, planning & organization skills, work planning through Agile tools (ADO, JIRA), plan technical debt resolution, continuous improvements
  • Experience with Application Insights, Log Analytics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting and telemetry-driven troubleshooting.
