Job Description
Our client, a leading company in its industry, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic business decisions. This role will lead day-to-day accounting activities while partnering with leadership to drive financial efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights to support business planning and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal company policies.
- Coordinate external audits and support the preparation of audit-related documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
- Analyze financial data and provide meaningful recommendations to support management decisions.
- Manage cash flow, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Partner with cross-functional departments to support operational and financial objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within accounting and finance functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting certification is highly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and accounting best practices.
- Experience managing the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, general ledger, and month-end close processes.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting principles is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (ACCPAC 5.2 / SAGE 50 / SAGE 300 ERP)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
