Job Title: Service & Installation Technician
Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC (on-site report directly to job site)
Job Type: Contract (3 months to start, with strong potential for extension and/or conversion)
Role Overview
We’re partnering with a global healthcare technology manufacturer that builds hospital and clinical communications systems used by nurses and caregivers. They’re looking for a hands-on Service & Installation Technician to install, commission, and service nurse call and clinical communications solutions across healthcare sites.
Important: This is not an IT Helpdesk / desktop support role. It’s a field-based, technical role involving hardware, networking, and system commissioning in clinical environments.
What You’ll Do
• Install, commission, service, and troubleshoot nurse call / clinical communication systems (hardware + software).
• Diagnose issues, complete repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to urgent service requests.
• Commission and configure front-end workstations and servers.
• Read and interpret existing installations and as-built drawings to support upgrades and service work.
• Maintain clear documentation (service notes, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, improvement recommendations).
• Communicate professionally with customers to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and site stakeholders to complete installations and service work smoothly.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Diploma/Associate or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience (2+ years).
• Strong troubleshooting skills across networked electronic systems + software.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, and system integration concepts.
• Experience with network topology and virtual environments (2+ years preferred).
• Strong technical writing/documentation skills.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Willing to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Ability to travel across Vancouver, BC
• Working at Heights certification (required) (or ability to obtain prior to start, if applicable).
• Valid driver’s license + reliable vehicle.
Strong Assets:
• 2+ years’ experience with nurse call systems (highly preferred).
• Experience working in healthcare environments (hospital/clinical sites).
