Job Description
We are seeking a professional and reliable Network / Cabling Technician for a 3-month initial contract. This role is focused on the physical installation of network infrastructure and small devices within a healthcare environment.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the physical layer of network deployment. Because this work takes place in active clinical settings, a high level of professionalism, clear communication, and a neat appearance is essential. This is a hardware-only role; no software configuration or advanced networking logic is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Cable Installation: Pulling and routing network cables (Cat5e/Cat6) through commercial and clinical spaces.
- Terminations: Performing high-quality RJ45 and keystone jack terminations.
- Verification: Using cable testers to ensure all runs are certified for connectivity.
- Device Mounting: Securely installing small hardware devices and peripherals.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhering to ladder safety and strict hospital-specific hygiene and safety protocols.
Required Skills & Experience
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact politely and professionally with hospital staff and clinical personnel.
- Presentation: Ability to maintain a neat, professional appearance while working on-site.
- Cabling Expertise: Proven experience with copper terminations (RJ45 and Keystone).
- Physical Ability: Comfortable working on ladders and in ceiling voids.
- Tool Proficiency: Experienced in using crimpers, punch-down tools, and cable verifiers.
