Job Description
Our client, a leading provider of industrial equipment solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to join their growing service team. This is a field-based role focused on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing mobile air compressor equipment at customer sites across British Columbia. This is a Fulltime and Direct Hire role.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, and emissions system issues using computerized diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Perform field-based troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance, including fluid checks, lubrication, component replacement, and major engine or equipment overhauls.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets or exceeds manufacturer performance standards before returning it to service.
- Deliver professional, timely, and solutions-focused support while addressing customer concerns on-site.
- Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and repair documentation.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, environmental regulations, and emissions standards.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers to explain technical issues and recommended solutions.
Qualifications
- Red Seal or equivalent Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
- Proven field service experience working with diesel engines and rotating equipment
- Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems
- Engine or major component rebuilding experience
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, service manuals, and schematics
- Valid driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract
- Ability to work independently in a field environment
Work Environment & Travel
- Field-based position with regular travel throughout British Columbia
- Minimum of one week per month traveling on Vancouver Island
