Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Mississauga or Montreal – 3x per week in office
Duration: 6 Month Contract (with high chance of extension)

 On behalf of our client, a leading National retailer, we are seeking a highly experienced, contract Project Manager to lead a critical security and technology initiative across their Quebec network. This role involves simultaneously managing the PCI PIN compliance upgrade for their existing payment infrastructure and overseeing a physical hardware refresh impacting approximately 300 locations and associated Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background managing complex, large-scale compliance and PCI related projects.

Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Management: Own and drive all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through execution, deployment, and final sign-off, ensuring minimal disruption to active retail operations.
• Scope Management: Define, verify, and control project scope, ensuring both the mandated PCI compliance requirements and the physical hardware replacement targets are met on time and within budget.
• Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with security compliance, hardware logistics, vendor performance, and on-site deployment schedules.
• PCI Expertise: Apply specific project management experience in PCI-related security or infrastructure projects, including an understanding of the Cardholder Data Environment (CDE) and the requirements for PCI PIN Transaction Security (PTS) compliance.
• Schedule Oversight: Develop and maintain a detailed deployment schedule, coordinating activities across the client's internal IT, security teams, third-party hardware vendors, and field installation crews.
• Stakeholder Interaction: Facilitate clear communication, providing timely and transparent updates to our client’s executive sponsors, and French-speaking stakeholders (Bilingualism in English/French is a significant asset).
• Vendor Coordination: Manage multiple external vendors for hardware supply, key management, key injection, and on-site installation services, ensuring all contractual obligations and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Documentation: Ensure all project documentation, change controls, deployment records, and final compliance evidence are accurately captured and signed off for audit purposes.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a dedicated Project Manager.
• Managing projects directly related to PCI DSS, PCI PIN Security, or hardware/security refreshes within a regulated environment.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale, distributed deployment projects involving a high volume of physical locations (experience with 250+ sites/endpoints is highly desirable).
• Familiarity with POS systems, EPP/PIN pad technology, network security principles, and large-scale deployment methodologies.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is a significant asset due to the location of the project and the primary language of field operations and stakeholders.
