Our client, a fast-growing company in the infrastructure development sector, is seeking a Junior Planning Coordinator to support municipal applications for development projects across Canada. The successful candidate will assist in advancing various municipal processes, ensuring timely and high-quality communication with stakeholders, and working closely with senior planning leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal governments.
Conduct proactive outreach to municipalities under the guidance of senior planning staff.
Review municipal application requirements and manage notifications, submissions, and inquiries.
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and clarity in all communications with external stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal planning and project teams to align on policies, standards, and documentation.
Assist in planning and executing public consultations, open houses, and related materials.
Draft responses to municipal, regional, and public inquiries regarding planning applications.
Perform other duties as required in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree
Valid driver’s license
Minimum of 2 years full-time professional experience
Two professional references
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and a solid work ethic
Willingness to work in-office and travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in planning or a related field
Membership in a recognized planning institute (provincial or national)
Practical experience in community planning, zoning, or land use
