Job Description
Our client, a leader in the logistics and transportation sector, is currently hiring a Full-Time Account Manager. This is a Direct Hire opportunity ideal for someone with a proactive mindset, strong customer service skills, and proven experience in a fast-paced 3PL environment.
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing customers while managing the day-to-day operations of assigned accounts. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring smooth operations and timely problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain professional relationships with assigned customers
- Provide updates to customers and internal sales teams as needed
- Collaborate with Customer Service to monitor shipment pickups, in-transit updates, and deliveries
- Proactively manage delays and minimize customer impact
- Work with internal teams to ensure compliance with bond usage and documentation
- Handle customer complaints with professionalism and efficiency
- Manage full-cycle order processing and ensure all data is accurately entered into the TMS system
- Track and communicate shipment status from pickup to delivery
- Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and stored
- Provide quotes for both ad hoc and contract business
- Coordinate with drivers and third parties to facilitate on-time deliveries
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Account Manager in a 3PL environment
- Experience working with freight forwarders
- Strong sales mentality and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Solid understanding of North American trucking regulations and geography
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills
