Job Description

Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead to join their growing company.

Responsibilities·
  • Manage the Electrical/CAD design.·
  • Provide technical guidance on electrical systems and control panels
  • Assign tasks and schedule team workloads
  • Monitor job performance and identify training and career development needs
  • Update the Engineering Manager and Project Management Team on project status.
  • Collaborate with teams in North America, Europe, and Asia on electrical designs.
  • Prepare, review, and approve drawings, bills of materials, and other engineering documents.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering codes, and standards.
  • Issue technical documents and drawing packages for manufacturing.
  • Support internal teams (Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality) and external clients
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and operational discussions
  • Ensure electrical control panels meet regulatory and quality standard
  • Assist in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems remotely and on-site.
  • Ensure a safe workplace and compliance with safety laws, regulations, and company policies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical and/or SOLIDWORKS Electrical
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial working experience with a focus on power systems, control systems and automation.
  • Working knowledge with PLC programming is preferred.
  • Familiar with the following codes and standards is preferred: o Canadian Electrical Code, CSA 22.1, CSA 22.2No.14, 25, 30 o NFPA 70, 496 o UL 508, 508A, 698, 698A o Applicable IEC standards for both unclassified area and hazardous area (IEC 60079-0 & 60079-1) o ATEX, Low Voltage, EMC directives
  • Strong written, communication skills and the ability to work in a cross- functional team environment.·
  • Knowledge of ERP systems used in manufacturing is preferred.
