Our client is seeking a Friction Engineer to join their team. This is a DIRECT HIRE role.
Responsibilities:
Design and development of advanced automotive friction materials tailored for bikes and e-bike brakes, ensuring optimal performance across diverse riding conditions
Select, evaluate and test sintered brake materials
Analyze components and optimize designs (FEA, CFD)
Support R&D, design and manufacturing teams to achieve standards and continuous improvement
Troubleshoot and resolve issuesInterpret and develop technical drawings
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred)
3+ years of automotive engineering experience with focus on brake systems and friction
Strong understanding of friction materials, testing, and analysis
Proficient with 2D & 3D CAD (Autodesk Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor, or similar)
Sintered friction experience is a plus
Knowledge of bicycle braking system design and performance characteristics (disc brakes, hydraulic systems)
Able to lead projects
Solid problem-solving skills and communication skills
