Job Description

Our client is seeking skilled Jira/Confluence Administrator to support the day-to-day operations and maintenance of their Atlassian suite. The role focuses on configuring, supporting, and enhancing Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence Cloud, while working under the guidance of a Lead Administrator. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in system configuration, user support, and platform optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure Jira and Confluence elements including workflows, fields, permission schemes, and spaces.

  • Respond to and resolve incidents, service requests, and general user issues.

  • Conduct routine health checks and implement performance tuning as needed.

  • Build and maintain automation rules using Jira Automation or tools like ScriptRunner.

  • Support the rollout of new features, plugins, and system upgrades.

  • Assist in setting up integrations with tools like Slack, Git, and ServiceNow.

  • Manage user roles, permissions, and groups through Atlassian Access.

  • Onboard and offboard users while ensuring compliance with access control policies.

  • Maintain and update technical documentation, runbooks, and support guides.

  • Adhere to change management processes and obtain necessary approvals for configuration changes.

  • Collaborate with and support the Jira/Confluence Lead to ensure platform stability and service enhancements.

  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the L3 team or vendor support as required.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of experience administering Jira Software, JSM, and Confluence.

  • Strong understanding of workflow configurations, field management, and permission schemes.

  • Hands-on experience in user support, troubleshooting, and ITSM tools.

  • Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud and popular Marketplace apps.

  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Groovy, Python) and knowledge of REST APIs.

  • Experience with third-party tool integrations.

  • Working knowledge of ITIL and Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
