Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable payroll professional for our client in the non-profit space. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for a range of payroll-related tasks to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant compensation processes. This role involves working collaboratively with various departments and handling confidential information with discretion. This role is FULLY REMOTE for the duration of an initial 3-month contract, with potential to extend towards 6 months. Successful candidates MUST HAVE strong Excel skills (to be tested) and working experience processing multi-provincial payroll using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing regular and off-cycle payroll runs
- Support payroll-related data entry and ensure the accuracy of employee records
- Respond to inquiries from employees, management, and HR regarding payroll and timekeeping
- Help maintain payroll documentation and electronic files
- Prepare or assist with payroll-related remittances and reconciliations
- Support compliance with applicable policies, collective agreements, and employment standards
- Generate reports and assist with data analysis for internal use
- Contribute to year-end processes and payroll reporting tasks
- Maintain data integrity across systems and provide administrative payroll support as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, payroll, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a payroll or finance-related role (a combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation, or currently working towards it
- Familiarity with Canadian payroll practices; experience with multiple provinces is REQUIRED
- Working experience with ADP WFN is REQUIRED
- Exposure to unionized environments or collective agreements is an asset
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficient in data entry, reporting, and using spreadsheet tools such as Excel or Smartsheet
- Comfortable working with confidential data and exercising sound judgment
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset, but not required
