Job Title: Senior SAP ETL Developer
Location: Remote (Ontario)

Reports to: Director, IT
Salary: $120,000 - 145,000 per year

Summary:

The Senior SAP ETL Developer will lead the integration of SAP ECC and SAP S/4 HANA data into a cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This role combines deep SAP expertise with advanced ETL and cloud-native data engineering skills to build scalable pipelines for analytics, reporting, and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP Data Integration (70%)

• Design and implement ETL pipelines from SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, BW, and Datasphere to Microsoft Fabric.
• Use tools like BODS, ABAP extracts, CDS views, ODP, RFCs, and BAPIs.
• Integrate non-SAP sources (e.g., JD Edwards) into a unified platform.
• Ensure data quality, security, and alignment with business needs.
• Review ABAP logic and legacy transformation rules.
• Support historical reporting and semantic modeling via HANA and BW.
• Document processes and improve integration frameworks.

Cloud ETL & Data Engineering (30%)

• Build transformations in SQL, Python, and PySpark within Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Synapse).
• Optimize performance, cost, and security in cloud environments.
• Design canonical models and ensure downstream usability (e.g., Power BI).

Governance & Collaboration

• Enforce data quality and governance standards.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and ERP admins to gather requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on SAP data and enterprise modeling.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10–15 years of IT experience, 8+ in SAP (ECC, S/4 HANA).
• Strong in SAP modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Production).
• Experience with BODS, ABAP, SAP Datasphere, and CDC tools (Theobald, DAB).
• Proficient in SQL, ETL tools (ADF, Informatica, Alteryx), and cloud data platforms.
• Skilled in data modeling (Kimball, star schema) and large-scale pipeline design.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and PII handling.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP certifications (S/4 HANA, Datasphere).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and PySpark.
• Background in delivering data solutions for finance, supply chain, or sales.
