We are assisting our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing sector, in the search for a Cost Analyst to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical finance professional to play a key role in driving cost efficiency and financial accuracy in a dynamic production environment. This is a permanent role and is fully onsite in Edmonton, AB.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Cost Analyst will be responsible for providing timely and accurate cost analysis data to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the integrity of the plant’s financial reporting in line with corporate standards and GAAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain ownership of key financial files (Product, Yield Standard, Labour) in coordination with Corporate Finance
- Prepare, review, and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on costing, inventory, yields, and labour
- Support plant management in analyzing cost variances and their impact on financial performance
- Conduct product and labour audits to validate standard costs, ensuring consistency with SOPs and BOMs
- Collaborate with Business Development and Corporate Costing teams to ensure standardized costing practices
- Recommend changes to standard product costs based on operational knowledge and costing data
- Compile monthly and year-to-date yield reports across multiple production departments
- Review and finalize month-end production reports in coordination with the Controller
- Reconcile labour data received from the Controller
Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma in Accounting
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar costing or financial analysis role
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Currently pursuing a CPA designation (asset)
- Experience with CSB (asset)
