Our client in the water infrastructure and public services industry is hiring for a Senior Procurement Specialist. This is a high-level contract role focused on overseeing the end-to-end procurement process, with a strong emphasis on ERP system acquisition. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing operational and IT-related purchases, including pumps, water filtration systems, and enterprise software.
Location and work model: Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite in Mississauga
Pay rate: $55–$60/hour
Schedule/hours: Full-time (standard business hours)
Contract duration: 6 months to start, with potential for extension
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end procurement activities using an ERP system
Support the procurement of an enterprise ERP system and ensure alignment with existing contract management and CRM tools
Manage sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation for mechanical and operational purchases (e.g., pumps, blowers, water filtration systems)
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure compliance with procurement policies
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast and manage procurement needs
Assist in tracking and reviewing cancelled or delayed purchase orders for potential reactivation
Support general professional services procurement including staffing, office, and vendor contracts
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in procurement, including experience at a lead or senior specialist level
Experience with public sector or broader public sector (BPS) procurement
Demonstrated experience with IT/software procurement
Strong knowledge of operational procurement – pumps, water treatment systems, or similar mechanical infrastructure
Comfortable in a fast-paced, strategic environment with changing priorities
