We have an exciting 6 month contract for a Senior Data Consultant in Downtown Toronto. This individual will be expected to work onsite 2-days per week. To be considered for this role you must have experience in the public sector and/or within the public transit industry.
The Senior Data Consultant will help our client to strategically and tactically implement data pipelines and infrastructure. You will also contribute to the development of their Data Strategy as a part of the Transit Ops Data team.
Must Haves
- 5+ years leading teams implementing data pipelines and integrations
- 5+ years experience developing processes and procedures for implementing data strategy, integration, and ingestion
- Solid knowledge of modern data analytics and technologies (i.e. Microsoft Azure Datalake, Databricks, etc.)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Works in partnership with internal customers, advising them on information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems
- Defines data strategy and provides guidance to improve structure and efficiency of I&IT systems
- Provides subject matter expertise in the field of Information Management & IT technology, in particular, data lake house, pipelines, and analytics
Qualifications and Skills
- Acts as the technical advisor/expert on all aspects of data strategy
- Develops processes and procedures for implementing data strategy, integration, and ingestion
- Ensures data architecture and pipelines are built based on standard technology and follow approved patterns, and ensuring high quality, reliability, and performance
- Anticipates and resolves problems to ensure that the deliverables are completed within budget, to the highest quality, meeting or exceeding expectations
- Works with internal clients to define the requirements for data and integrations
- Prepares reports and presentations including options, recommendations, implementation plans, etc.
- Familiar with change-management principles and methodology
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
