Job Description

Our client working in the Non-Profit industry is hiring for a Energy and Program Analyst to join their team starting on an 11 week contract. This opportunity has the potential to go permanently. This is working in a hybrid model 2 days onsite DT Toronto, 3 days remotely.

The Energy and Program Analyst manages all billing, data analysis, and account support for the electricity program. This role ensures that electricity usage data is accurately processed, bills are sent out on time, payments are tracked, and municipal customers receive the support they need. It also includes research, forecasting, reporting, and helping LAS leadership with data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing & Account Management
    • Check daily electricity usage files from local utilities (LDCs) to ensure billing data is complete.
    • Monitor the billing system for issues, correct errors, and make sure invoices are generated and sent on time.
    • Resolve billing exceptions quickly to meet strict deadlines.
    • Manage the flow of data between utilities, LAS systems, and municipal customers.
    • Integrate billing info into accounting systems (Accounts Receivable/Payable).
    • Enroll and de-enroll municipal customer accounts in the system.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze energy use data and create reports for municipalities.
    • Provide forecasting support and develop electricity consumption profiles.
    • Prepare monthly performance and efficiency reports.
    • Work with supervisors to define and build new reports as needed.
    • Conduct research and create presentations for LAS leadership.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with LAS staff, municipal customers, utility companies, and service providers.
    • Regularly communicate with customers to address billing issues and data requests.
    • Report any data or system issues to your supervisor for resolution.
    • Attend meetings as needed and assist with additional tasks as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in business or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in electricity billing or analysis for commercial or industrial customers.
  • Strong skills in finance, accounting, or data analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Organized and able to manage priorities and timelines independently.
  • Understanding of municipal operations is an asset.
  • Able to research, synthesize, and present complex information clearly.
