Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our clients growing IT team, reporting directly to the AVP, IT Application Management. In this role, you’ll be the key link between the business and development teams — driving the product vision, owning the backlog, and ensuring agile teams are set up for successful delivery.

You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, developers, and QA to plan, prioritize, and deliver valuable enhancements and new features. If you’re passionate about agile product ownership and love turning ideas into working solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product backlog: manage, prioritize, and refine user stories and tasks.

  • Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear development deliverables.

  • Ensure backlog is always refined and ready for development teams to work on.

  • Plan and schedule releases based on business needs and sprint outcomes.

  • Work closely with Agile teams to mitigate impediments and ensure sprint goals are achieved.

  • Research and stay informed about industry trends, user needs, and competitor insights.

  • Contribute to a mature Scrum team structure, working alongside a dedicated Scrum Master, Business Analyst, and Dev/QA teams.

  • Maintain compliance with internal AML policies, where applicable.

  • Stay current with Agile/Scrum best practices.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 3–5 years of dedicated Product Owner experience (permanent roles preferred).

  • Proven experience working within a structured Scrum team (separate Scrum Master, BA, Dev/QA roles).

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum frameworks, and backlog management.

  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and logical thinking.

  • Experience with data modeling is an asset but not required.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based (with 2 days/week onsite).

  • High-volume periods with tight deadlines.

  • Multi-tasking across systems, communications, and project deliverables.
