Our client in the residential Mortgage space is seeking a Mortgage Administrator to join their team in Hamilton. This position is full-time in office in Hamilton and offers 3 weeks vacation, 6 personal days and a personal health spending account!
In role, you will be responsible for supporting the mortgage team by managing and administrating mortgage files, ensuring timely and accurate processing of mortgage payments and renewals, and handling other related tasks crucial to the success of the department.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Process mortgage payments, including payouts, on a daily basis.
- Input mortgage data for new clients, new mortgages, banking information, and change of address notifications.
- Administer and follow-up on mortgage renewals in a timely manner.
- Prepare discharge statements, including calculating payout penalties.
- Manage property tax accounts by receiving and reviewing monthly tax reports, processing tax payments, and following up on mortgages where the mortgagor is responsible for property tax payments.
- Follow up on cancelled property insurance policies.
- Understand and apply bank policies and procedures related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) to ensure documentation requirements are met.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and a commitment to managing time effectively.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management as required.
Qualifications and Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of mortgage experience
• Strong knowledge of residential mortgages.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
