Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Employee Relations Consultant to join our public sector client.
Our client is located in North York and follows a fully on site work model (100% in office).
This is a 3-MONTH CONTRACT opportunity starting immediately with the possibility of extension.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support on a wide range of complex employee relations matters, including but not limited to:
- Conducting thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, including those related to discrimination, harassment, bullying, and workplace violence.
- Providing expert advice and counsel to management on employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, performance management, terminations, and workplace conduct.
- Developing and implementing effective strategies for resolving employee conflicts and grievances.
- Advising on and interpreting relevant legislation and policies.
- Providing training and education to managers and employees on workplace issues, including harassment prevention, conflict resolution, and workplace conduct.
- Managing high-volume and complex employee relations matters in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records of all employee relations activities.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and respect.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in employee relations within a complex organization, preferably in the public sector.
- Proven experience in conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant employment legislation, including human rights, labor relations, and occupational health and safety.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels
