Job Description
Our client, a transportation organization in Toronto, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join their team. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can provide effective and efficient office services by performing general administrative and clerical functions to support the department.
Full time hours Monday to Friday (ONSITE - DT Toronto)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure timely opening, sorting, date stamping and distribution of all incoming email, correspondence, mail and faxes.
Scanning, distributing and uploading documents.
- Answer and investigate inquiries received from employees regarding disability benefits, return to work process, Occupational Injury (OI) process and other general inquiries within general scope of knowledge and areas of responsibility.
- Process receipts from employees, invoices from physicians, and ambulance bills for payment; investigate and resolve invoice/payment discrepancies as required
- Ensure applications, medical documentation, reports and filing is completed in a timely manner and support OHEW staff with other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain tracking of all Occupational Injury (OI) claims, review all incoming OI reports, and set up first aid incidents into the appropriate software application and database.
- Follow up with employees or physician offices on claims information as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
- Experience in administrative work.
- Experience with office technology, software, and applications
- Data entry skills
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment.
- Good interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills
