Are you passionate about geographic information systems (GIS) and early in your career as a GIS Analyst? We are seeking Junior GIS Analysts for one of our Crown Corporation clients. If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong technical background, and a desire to grow your career in GIS, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of geographic data.
• Create, update, and maintain GIS databases and mapping systems.
• Support Senior GIS Analysts with spatial analysis, data modeling, and cartographic production.
• Generate maps, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate GIS data with other business systems.
• Perform quality control on GIS data and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving GIS software issues.
• Stay current with new GIS technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Computer Science or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms).
• Familiarity with spatial data formats (shapefiles, geodatabases, raster data).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A passion for GIS and geospatial technologies!

Preferred Skills (not required but a plus):

• Experience with Python or other programming languages for GIS automation.
• Knowledge of remote sensing and geospatial analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with GPS data collection and fieldwork.
• Experience with web mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Google Earth Engine).
