Our client, a prestigious and dynamic business law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join their team. What You’ll Do:
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Supervise and guide the bookkeeping and accounting team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Manage Core Financial Operations: Oversee the daily financial functions, including online banking, invoicing, payroll, and other transactions critical to the firm’s success.
- Support the Billing Process: Work closely with legal administrative assistants to streamline and support the billing and invoicing procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage the Accounting Cycle: Take ownership of the full monthly and annual accounting cycle, collaborating with external accountants to finalize year-end tasks and tax filings.
- Drive Financial Strategy: Prepare annual budgets and provide ongoing financial forecasting to support firm-wide decision-making.
- Deliver Insightful Financial Reporting: Generate both regular and ad-hoc financial reports for the firm’s partners, offering valuable insights into financial performance and areas for improvement.
- Support Cost Management: Offer strategic insights on cost management, helping the firm optimize its financial performance and resources.
- Work with Advanced Software: Utilize various accounting software applications to manage and track financial tasks efficiently and effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus a CPA designation.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in accounting/finance, ideally in a managerial role within a law firm or other professional services environment such as engineering or consulting.
- Strong understanding of the legal billing process and experience working with multiple legal entities, managing intercompany transactions, and understanding the nuances of professional services firms.
- Proven track record in managing internal controls, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Ability to liaise with partners and team members effectively, providing clarity and support on financial matters.
