Job Description
Our client is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator with a strong background in freight forwarding and retail operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics process, ensuring timely delivery, optimizing costs, and maintaining a seamless flow of goods across the supply chain.
Location: North York, ON.
Work arrangement: Onsite 4 days per week, 1 day per week from home.
Hours: 9am-5pm
Duration: 1-year, possibility to extend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee import/export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with international shipping regulations.
- Work closely with freight carriers and forwarders to negotiate rates, book shipments, and monitor transit.
- Resolve shipment issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Coordinate the transportation and delivery of products to retail locations or customers, ensuring timely and efficient distribution.
- Collaborate with retail teams to forecast inventory needs and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Monitor and analyze retail logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline logistics operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth supply chain processes.
- Prepare and manage accurate shipping documentation, invoices, and inventory records.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and external partners regarding logistics-related inquiries.
- Provide regular updates on shipment statuses and address any logistics challenges proactively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in logistics coordination, with a focus on freight forwarding and retail operations.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel (advanced functions).
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse teams and external partners.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field (preferred but not required).
