Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator with a strong background in freight forwarding and retail operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics process, ensuring timely delivery, optimizing costs, and maintaining a seamless flow of goods across the supply chain.

Location: North York, ON.
Work arrangement: Onsite 4 days per week, 1 day per week from home. 
Hours: 9am-5pm 
Duration: 1-year, possibility to extend. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee import/export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with international shipping regulations.
  • Work closely with freight carriers and forwarders to negotiate rates, book shipments, and monitor transit.
  • Resolve shipment issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate the transportation and delivery of products to retail locations or customers, ensuring timely and efficient distribution.
  • Collaborate with retail teams to forecast inventory needs and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor and analyze retail logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline logistics operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth supply chain processes.
  • Prepare and manage accurate shipping documentation, invoices, and inventory records.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and external partners regarding logistics-related inquiries.
  • Provide regular updates on shipment statuses and address any logistics challenges proactively.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in logistics coordination, with a focus on freight forwarding and retail operations.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel (advanced functions).
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse teams and external partners.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field (preferred but not required).
