Our client in Real Estate is seeking a Manager, Corporate Finance, to join their dynamic team in Woodbridge, ON! This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Corporate Finance Manager leads a team of five, overseeing full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, internal reporting, treasury, accounts payable, and tax planning for corporate entities. This role offers broad business exposure and collaboration with a process-focused, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all elements of corporate finance functions, ensuring precision and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Supervise end-to-end corporate accounting processes, delivering accurate and timely financial reports for operating entities, holding companies, and corporate organizations while maintaining strict compliance with accounting standards and reporting deadlines.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for investment funds and corporate entities, guaranteeing regulatory compliance and accuracy.
- Act as the main liaison with external auditors, managing the audit cycle and providing required documentation efficiently.
- Collaborate with tax consultants and authorities to ensure timely and seamless tax compliance.
- Direct treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity oversight, and bank account management.
- Administer processes related to distributions, redemptions, and commission payments, ensuring correct calculations and prompt processing.
- Support fund accounting tasks, including monitoring, reporting, valuations, and transaction management.
- Manage and execute payroll-related activities.
- Oversee HST filings, payroll remittances, inter-company reconciliations, and maintain Yardi software operations alongside broader corporate finance responsibilities.
- Lead and mentor the corporate finance team, offering training, constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment that promotes continuous learning and growth.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA-CA or CPA designation with 5+ years of experience in public accounting or industry.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, specifically IFRS.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Driven for growth with a genuine curiosity for learning.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills, capable of working efficiently under tight timelines.
- Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders.
