The IT Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of IT programs that support the university’s academic, administrative, and research goals. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring projects align with institutional strategies, and delivering technology solutions within scope, budget, and timeline.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT programs that align with the university's academic and operational goals.
- Define program objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Partner with faculty, staff, students, and IT teams to assess needs and develop technology-driven solutions.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure program alignment and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Oversee multiple IT projects within the program, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage resources, schedules, and budgets to achieve program milestones.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT programs, ensuring compliance with university policies, IT governance, and regulatory standards.
- Build and manage cross-functional project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to achieve program objectives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate program progress and performance to university leadership.
- Stay informed on emerging IT trends and integrate best practices into university programs for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of program or project management experience in IT, preferably in a higher education environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, software, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMP certification).
