Our Client a Toronto-based community health care agency provides comprehensive services, including community support, mental health and addiction services, supportive housing, primary care, and home care. Governed by the community, the agency strives to enhance equitable access to care and improve client and community services. They are looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst. The role, of reporting to senior leadership, involves supporting finance tasks with a focus on revenue allocation, cash management, and budget reporting. Strong communication, diplomacy, and a positive attitude are essential to ensure a superior customer service experience and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Excellent acumen in the development, preparation, and analysis of financial systems, internal controls and financial statements.
Oversight of day-to-day accounting operations, including completion of monthly bank reconciliations and regular review, creation, and amendment of journal entries.
Cash flow forecasting while ensuring adequate working capital is maintained in each bank account and adhering to cash restrictions imposed by the funders.
Monitoring funder payments and in-year funding adjustments where applicable.
Expenditure forecasting and allocation, monitoring and implementing controls, including maintenance of detailed spreadsheets used in the year end audit.
Assistance with internal financial reporting, variance analysis, and distributes to Executive Management.
Assists in budget preparation and proposal submission where required.
Prepares annual reports to funding agencies and other stakeholders.
Takes a lead role in the annual audit while acting as a liaison with external auditors.
Assisting with the preparation of quarterly MIS Trial Balance reports to improve alignment with other external financial reporting and Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS).
Qualifications
Through knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of booking, financial statement presentation, and accounting principles.
Familiarity with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).
5-7 years of progressive financial management experience in a not-for-profit organization; preferably in a health setting.
Experience with working in GP dynamics is required.
String written and verbal skills with staff to ensure a productive working environment
Computer competent and literate (word-processing, email, internet, spreadsheet, and database software knowledge and experience.)
