Our federal government defence client is requesting a Senior Project Manager to provide expert advice on requirements definition, gap analysis, client and user communications and consultations, stakeholder and industry engagement, government procurement, business process analysis and improvement, options analysis, and risk management. They should facilitate project approval, costing, planning, directing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring to ensure successful project identification, options analysis, definition, and implementation.
Tasks:
Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the Project Team
Create a detailed work plan
Manage the work to ensure resources are available and that it is completed on time, within budget, and meets performance standards.
Define the team structure, roles, budget, and terms of reference for the work.
Create and maintain project Work Breakdown Structures and schedules, conducting critical path analysis to identify scheduling and dependency issues.
Collaborate with Public Service project staff and manage Senior Business Analyst
Execute the project according to the project plan
Document project activities
Continuously monitor and report project progress at scheduled intervals.
Review and update the policy management system's requirements in consultation with stakeholders, the Technical Authority, and end users.
Ensure compatibility between the policy management system and other departmental system currently in use
Offer management advice during key stakeholder meetings, such as the Force Development and Requirements Board, Defence Capability Board, Project Management Board, Senior Review Board, Sr. leadership project progress and resource allocation meetings
Participate in review meetings, propose solutions, and collaborate with IM/IT and stakeholders on change management and system maintenance.
Liaise with key stakeholders with respect to matters affecting the project
Experience and Qualifications:
Valid Reliability Clearance
10 years of industry experience in the Information Technology sector, as a Project Manager within the Federal Government
PhD in Business Management or Project Management OR Master of Business Administration (MBA) or master's degree in project management
