Application Architect

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior administration and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with digital innovation objectives.
    • Serve as the primary contact for application architecture consultations, defining, evaluating, and recommending strategies, including application integration and interface design.
    • Lead technology changes to deliver business outcomes while consulting with subject matter experts.
    • Recommend new technologies to support strategic plans and digital transformation initiatives.
    • Advocate for innovative approaches, overseeing technical solutions for enterprise needs.
  • Advisory and Consultation

    • Provide strategic advice to senior management on business proposals, addressing impacts on operations and competitive advantages.
    • Collaborate with teams to ensure strategic integration and technology standards.
    • Participate in steering committees and stakeholder forums to align technology initiatives.
  • Research and Development

    • Explore trends in applications architecture and emerging technologies to plan for future needs.
    • Recommend application architectures to support evolving client requirements and enterprise goals.
    • Guide technology investment decisions to achieve business outcomes while meeting technical requirements.
  • Standardization and Governance

    • Implement and monitor application architecture standards to ensure consistency across integrations and deployments.
    • Develop and recommend operational procedures for evolving business needs.
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Promote state-of-the-art approaches to enhance enterprise applications.
    • Develop performance metrics to evaluate and improve applications architecture.
    • Foster collaboration across teams to drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven expertise in applications architecture, strategic planning, cloud computing, and integration within enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong client relations skills to understand and address diverse business needs.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies for technology delivery.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop relevant strategies and solutions.
  • Experience with DXP/CMS platforms such as Acquia Cloud and Drupal multisite configurations.

Education

  • A 4-year degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent training and experience in ERP applications architecture and development.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Professional, Salesforce Application Architect, or Acquia Cloud Certification.
  • Experience in higher education or public sector technology environments.
