Job Description
We are seeking an HR Advisor for one of our leading nonprofit sector clients. This 6-month contract offers potential for extension. In this role, you will support the development and implementation of inclusive HR strategies. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, abilities management, and employee/labor relations initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and values.
Location: New Market
Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite
Salary: $80,00 - $90,000
Must complete a vulnerable sector check and internal check
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing strategies, job postings, interviews, and equity-focused hiring practices.
- Collaborate with leaders to identify hiring needs and support job fairs, recruitment initiatives, and onboarding efforts.
- Lead return-to-work and accommodation processes, managing WSIB, STD/LTD, and leave administration.
- Facilitate meetings, track progress, and escalate complex cases as needed.
- Provide HR guidance on policies, collective agreements, and legislation.
- Address employee inquiries, support investigations, and participate in grievance and arbitration meetings.
- Maintain case records, analyze data, and provide updates to union representatives.
- Support the implementation of HRIS, policy development, and training initiatives.
- Assist with ATS and position management software deployment.
- Assist with compensation programs, job evaluations, and pay equity initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of HR training and recognition programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (CHRP preferred).
- 4+ years of HR experience in a unionized environment; child welfare experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in HRIS/ATS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of HR legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA).
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bilingualism in French is an asset.
