Job Description
A wealth management firm in Midtown Toronto is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join their team. This position is a 12-month contract to cover a maternity leave absence. This role would require the successful candidate to be in office 3 days a week.
Major responsibilities:
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support the team
- Compile, code and maintain proper storage of invoices, cheques, and other documents by organizing, scanning, and filing them
- Revenue reconciliation
- Reconciliation of accounts including bank statements
- Maintain and update continuity schedules
- Assist with commission calculations
- Assist with external/regulatory/statutory audits.
- Sort and enter proxy information
- Perform special projects and other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of accounting work experience
- Must have a minimum of one year hands-on experience with QuickBooks or any other accounting software.
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
