Job Description
Our client is looking for two Engineers to join their team (Senior and Intermediate).
As a Mechanical Engineer with Gamma Technologies, you'll play a key role in their Engineering team, directly contributing to the success of Industrial Irradiator projects. Reporting to the Manager, Production Irradiator (PI) - Mechanical, you'll lead the full lifecycle of these critical systems—from initial design to final commissioning—while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. This is a highly impactful role where your technical expertise and leadership will drive project excellence and support the company’s ongoing growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the design, manufacturing, and installation of Industrial Irradiators at our clients Kanata facility.
- Provide guidance to designers, engineers, technologists, and suppliers to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee installations at customer sites with approximately 60-90 days of international travel per year.
- Work across mechanical, electrical, controls, and process engineering disciplines to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.
Education & Certification:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering and PEng certification (or eligibility to obtain it).
Experience:
- 8-10 years of industrial experience, including a combination of mechanical engineering and knowledge of electrical, controls, and process systems.
- Proven expertise in SolidWorks or similar design software.
- A minimum of 5 years managing complex projects valued at over $500,000.
- A strong track record in mechanical design, troubleshooting, and solving complex technical challenges.
- Customer-facing experience (5+ years), with the ability to build strong relationships and meet client needs effectively.
Skills:
- Self-motivated leader capable of inspiring and guiding teams.
- Skilled in planning, scheduling, and executing projects with precision.
- Strong communicator with excellent presentation and technical writing skills.
- Effective at prioritizing and handling multiple demands simultaneously.
Additional Requirements:
- Training Requirement: The successful candidate must complete all mandatory training and certification as a Nuclear Energy Worker to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- International Travel Capability: The role necessitates the ability to travel internationally as needed for project installations and supervision.
- Background Verification: As part of the screening process, background verification, including FBI fingerprinting to uphold security measures and ensure suitability for the position.
Compensation and Perks:
$85k-115k base salary - depending on seniority
Travel 60-90 days per year (must have valid Canadian passport)
Overtime pay after 40 hours a week
Travel bonus PLUS travel overtime pay
3 weeks vacation to start
