Job Description
We are seeking a Configuration Team Lead to support our Broader Public Sector client. As a Configuration Team Lead you will play a critical role in overseeing and supporting system configuration and deployment activities. Reporting to the Manager of Field IT, you will lead a team of technicians, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of hardware and software systems. This includes providing technical expertise, inventory management, and team leadership to support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a small team of technicians, assigning daily tasks and monitoring progress.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics of hardware and software systems, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Oversee the configuration, imaging, and deployment of hardware and software systems.
- Conduct maintenance and installation of network systems, including hardware, cabling, and telecommunications.
- Maintain inventory databases by adding new records, updating existing ones, and tracking overdue items.
- Test and evaluate hardware and software applications for compatibility with current standards.
- Ensure workspaces, storage areas, and labs are clean and organized.
- Collaborate with internal teams and technical support staff to resolve issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in computer technology, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft software products, imaging software, desktop and laptop hardware, and telecommunications applications.
- Expertise in hardware/software installation techniques and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience in team management and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and priorities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to precision in work.
- Physical ability to lift up to 45 lbs independently.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
