Our client in the Non Profit space is seeking a Bilingual Disability Claims Administrator to join there team in Montreal. As the Disability Claims Administrator you will be responsible for calculating and issuing short and long-term disability benefit payments. This role involves setting up new claims, managing payment systems, and assessing Quick Pay short-term and Maintenance long-term disability claims according to contractual and corporate policies.
This is a 12-month contract position requiring 2 days on-site per week. Training will be fully on-site for the first 5 weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate and issue short and long-term disability payments based on case manager instructions and contractual terms.
- Perform complex benefit calculations, including inflation protection, cost of living increases, rehabilitation, and partial period calculations.
- Manage overpayment calculations and repayment follow-up.
- Explain benefit calculations to customers by phone or in writing.
- Set up new claims, verify coverage, and complete initial benefit, waiver, reserve calculations, and file setup.
- Calculate and issue payments for Quick Pay short-term disability claims.
- Request and assess medical updates for long-term disability claims.
- Complete annual inflation protection and benefit calculations as applicable.
- Perform data verification and resolve system discrepancies as needed.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education with a strong financial background or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Team player with customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and a quick learner of industry-related software.
