Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Total Rewards and Compensation Specialist to join our client on a full time permanent basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, implementing, and maintaining our total rewards strategies. This is an exciting opportunity working in a hybrid model, 2 days onsite downtown Ottawa.


Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct market research and benchmarking to analyze compensation trends and maintain competitive pay structures.
    • Develop and administer salary surveys to support organizational decision-making.
    • Perform comprehensive job evaluations to ensure accurate classification and alignment with organizational structures.
    • Collaborate with managers and HR partners to create, review, and revise job descriptions.
    • Lead initiatives to analyze and address pay equity within the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Provide recommendations to address gaps and maintain equitable compensation practices.
    • Support the development and implementation of total rewards programs, including salary, benefits, incentives, and recognition initiatives.
    • Partner with HR and leadership to align total rewards programs with the organization’s goals and employee value proposition.
    • Ensure compensation programs comply with relevant legislation and best practices.
    • Update policies and procedures as required to reflect evolving trends and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
    • Strong proficiency in compensation analysis tools and HRIS platforms.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including pay equity laws and labor standards.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
