Job Description
On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for a Security Architect for a 12-month contract (full-time, 37.5 hours/week) with a possible 6-month extension. This is a hybrid position requiring two days onsite in Toronto, GTA.
Project Context
This role involves leading the design and implementation of secure architectural solutions to support organizational needs. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and mitigate security threats through robust planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security architectures for complex IT environments.
- Evaluate and integrate security solutions, focusing on Microsoft O365, Azure, and advanced threat protection tools.
- Identify and address gaps in security architecture, mitigating threats and risks.
- Implement and manage security technologies such as DDI, PAM (e.g., CyberArk), Email Security (Cisco), DLP, and SIEM solutions.
- Ensure compliance with legislation like FOIPPA and corporate confidentiality directives.
- Collaborate on vulnerability management, penetration testing, and incident response activities.
- Support cloud migration efforts, ensuring security at all levels (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Maintain and enhance network and infrastructure security, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and web application firewalls.
Must-Have Skills and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Security Architect.
- Certifications: TOGAF or SABSA, ITIL, CISSP (or equivalent).
- Proven experience with Microsoft O365, Azure, and security tools like CyberArk, Cisco Firewalls, and Tenable.io.
- Expertise in network security, IAM, cloud security architecture, and vulnerability management.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., FOIPPA).
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of Linux, Unix, and VMware.
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification.
- Familiarity with data center operations, system monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Experience in quality control and assurance methodologies.
