Job Description
On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for a System Analyst (SIS, Destiny One) for a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This is a hybrid position based in dt Toronto, On.
Purpose:
In this role, the System Analyst will focus on analyzing, improving, and implementing IT systems and processes to support the business's strategic goals. The position involves close collaboration with clients, vendors, and IT teams to develop and maintain essential enterprise systems for learner/student data, course catalogs, and enrollment processes. The successful candidate will also provide end-user training and ensure adherence to best practices and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, assess, and recommend updates for IT systems and integrations.
- Align business requirements with IT architecture, develop solutions, and improve system efficiency.
- Document system features, changes, and ensure data quality assurance.
- Analyze security and system integrity impacts of new technologies.
- Conduct needs assessments, document technical requirements, and provide solutions to complex IT challenges.
- Advise on system documentation, efficiency improvements, and conduct evaluations to enhance productivity.
- Define project scope, schedules, and milestones; manage project charters and timelines.
- Lead project testing, track progress, and report on project status to clients and stakeholders.
- Address service requests promptly and train users on system features.
- Develop and update training materials, technical guides, and inform clients on system changes.
- Estimate costs and plan financial resources for IT projects and programs.
- Support specialists, resolve end-user issues, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: At least five years of IT experience supporting post-secondary or continuing education systems (e.g., Destiny One) and developing architectural frameworks for enterprise systems.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of ITSM, helpdesk systems (e.g., ServiceNow), security controls, and familiarity with integration and disaster recovery.
