Job Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their dynamic and fast-paced team for a permanent role. This role is based in Mississauga.

This position is responsible for delivering management reporting, conducting financial analysis, and providing decision-making support. This role enhances understanding of core business drivers and optimizes performance across specific countries, segments, and markets.

  • Safety: Promoting, enhancing, and following safety protocols in all work settings.
  • Month-End Close and Reporting: Executing monthly closing activities such as preparing journal entries, coordinating, and consolidating monthly reports. This includes financial statements, key performance indicators, and providing commentary to explain business performance.
  • Account Reconciliation & Variance Analysis: Performing account reconciliations and analyzing cost centers. Conducting variance analysis and account reviews to ensure balances meet expectations, with explanations for significant differences.
  • Financial Campaign Support: Assisting in the planning and implementation of various financial initiatives throughout the year, including forecasting, budgeting, cost management, audits, and ad hoc projects. Organizing planning meetings with stakeholders to outline essential deliverables and process requirements. Developing templates and procedures for accurate validation and consolidation at both segment and country levels, ensuring alignment with group and regional standards.
  • Reporting Analytics and Compliance: Working with reporting system managers to ensure accurate account mapping, compliance with HARP standards, and proper reporting views. This includes systems such as SAP ECC, SAP FC, Tagetik, QlikView, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Process Improvement: Regularly assessing and enhancing processes for greater efficiency, including automating report generation where possible.
  • Accounting Standards Compliance: Assisting in maintaining adherence to and implementing accounting standards, such as IFRS guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting or Business/Commerce degree
  • 3 - 5 years professional experience required
  • Enrollment in a Professional accounting program (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA) preferred
  • SAP FC/SAP ECC/BPC experience an asset
  • Advanced MS Excel and Access skills for reporting and data analysis
  • Advanced MS Powerpoint skills for presentation to senior management
  • Experience working with Google Suite(Google Sheets and Google Slides)
  • IFRS knowledge
