Our real estate development client is seeking an Asset Manager in Ottawa. Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, this role will oversee asset planning, investment performance, financial analysis, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the organization's real estate investment portfolio.
• Develop and implement asset strategies, focusing on leasing, upgrades, maintenance, and development opportunities.
• Ensure property-level economic viability and competitiveness in existing markets.
• Conduct regular on-site reviews to enhance business plans.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop annual operational and capital budgets.
• Monitor capital and operational maintenance requests to align with budget and operational standards.
• Analyze and update asset valuations based on financial performance and strategic goals.
• Assess market positioning of assets regarding rents, lease terms, and occupancy.
• Identify value-creation opportunities, conduct financial analysis, and make recommendations.
• Conduct market research on economic trends affecting current and future investments.

Qualifications:

• Proven relevant real estate experience, with an undergraduate degree in a related field.
• Strong attention to detail in financial analysis and forecasting.
• Experience managing asset, leasing, development, and financing strategies in residential real estate.
• Excellent business acumen, including negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with comfort in formal and informal presentations.
• Ability to manage and direct third-party property management companies.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive work culture.
• Analytical skills to identify risks and opportunities in real estate investments.
• Experience using Yardi is an asset.
