Job Description

Our healthcare and hospital client is seeking a Medical Secretary to join their team on a 11 week contract to start, with a strong possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will have experience with scheduling and administrative tasks within a medical department.

This is a hybrid role (2 days on-site), in Downtown Toronto. 

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage and maintain appointment schedules for health professionals.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, ensuring proper allocation of resources and timely follow-up.
  • Assist in the preparation of patient charts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with other administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Perform general administrative duties, such as filing, data entry, and office organization.
  • Occasionally provide front desk coverage. Greet patients and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries or redirect calls to the appropriate department.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare administrative role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
