Job Description
Our healthcare and hospital client is seeking a Medical Secretary to join their team on a 11 week contract to start, with a strong possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will have experience with scheduling and administrative tasks within a medical department.
This is a hybrid role (2 days on-site), in Downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage and maintain appointment schedules for health professionals.
- Coordinate patient appointments, ensuring proper allocation of resources and timely follow-up.
- Assist in the preparation of patient charts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Perform general administrative duties, such as filing, data entry, and office organization.
- Occasionally provide front desk coverage. Greet patients and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
- Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries or redirect calls to the appropriate department.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare administrative role is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
