Senior Grading Foreman

Site Development & Heavy Civil Construction

Lead the crews that build projects from the ground up.

An established heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Grading Foreman to lead grading and earthwork operations on commercial, municipal, and federal construction projects.

This role is ideal for an experienced field leader who thrives in a fast paced environment, understands heavy equipment operations, and takes pride in delivering safe, high quality work while keeping projects on schedule.

What You'll Do

• Lead and supervise grading and earthwork crews on active construction projects.

• Coordinate daily operations with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.

• Oversee mass grading, site preparation, cut and fill operations, and finish grading.

• Direct heavy equipment operators to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

• Read grading plans, civil drawings, and survey staking.

• Verify elevations, compaction, and project quality standards.

• Coordinate with utility contractors and other trades to keep projects moving.

• Complete daily reports, production tracking, and equipment utilization logs.

• Maintain OSHA safety standards and environmental compliance.

What We're Looking For

• 5 or more years of grading, earthwork, or site development experience.

• Previous experience leading grading crews.

• Strong knowledge of bulldozers, motor graders, excavators, rollers, and other heavy equipment.

• Ability to read grading plans and civil construction drawings.

• Experience with GPS machine control systems such as Trimble or Leica is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of erosion control, stormwater compliance, and jobsite safety.

• Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus.

• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
