Corporate Accounting Manager
Location: Onsite in Chesterfield, Missouri
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees daily accounting operations, ensures accuracy of financial reporting, and supports strategic decision‑making within a manufacturing environment. This role manages a team of accounting professionals and partners closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to maintain strong financial controls and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the accounting team, providing coaching, performance management, and workflow oversight.
- Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, disposals, depreciation schedules, physical asset tracking, and compliance with corporate policies.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and GAAP.
- Serve as a liaison for external audits and oversee SG&A accounting and reporting
- Coordinate audits (internal and external) and support tax and regulatory filings.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Partner with plant operations to support financial reporting related to production activities, inventory, and operational performance.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including development of departmental and plant-level financial plans.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business initiatives and financial decision‑making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory or team‑lead experience required.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting and manufacturing financial processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Background in multi‑site and manufacturing operations.
