Senior Accountant (Hybrid)

Location: West Des Moines, IA 
Salary: $82,000–$112,000

A stable and growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant within their Insurance Investments team to support the accounting and reporting of its insurance investment portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with insurance or statutory accounting experience looking to grow within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly investment journal entries and reconciliations
• Lead quarterly and annual NAIC investment schedule preparation
• Support audits, regulatory reporting, and financial statement preparation
• Analyze investment activity and ensure compliance with statutory and GAAP reporting
• Partner with finance and investment teams to improve reporting processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience
• Insurance accounting, statutory reporting, or insurance financial reporting experience preferred
• Experience with NAIC reporting or insurance audits is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Strong analytical skills and a collaborative, adaptable mindset
