About the Opportunity:

Our client is a construction management firm supporting a major aviation infrastructure modernization program in Los Angeles. They are seeking a Project Manager III (IT Liaison) to serve as the primary liaison between Airport IT projects, Airport Operations, airline partners, contractors, and key stakeholders across multiple terminals.

This role is responsible for supporting coordination and communication between operational and technical teams, ensuring alignment between airport technology initiatives and operational requirements while minimizing impacts to airport operations.

The position works closely with Airport Operations, IT teams, airline stakeholders, contractors, and program leadership to support project coordination, operational readiness, risk mitigation, and successful implementation of airport technology and infrastructure projects.

This role supports major airport modernization and terminal improvement initiatives within a large public-sector aviation environment.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Airport IT project teams, Airport Operations, airline partners, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination across internal teams, operational groups, airline stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Provide updates regarding project status, milestones, risks, dependencies, and operational impacts.
  • Support coordination of IT project activities across multiple airport terminals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify operational impacts and support mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate contractor activities to support project execution, scheduling, and operational compliance requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings, site walks, operational briefings, and stakeholder coordination sessions.
  • Track project progress, action items, risks, and deliverables.
  • Support integration of airport equipment and operational systems with IT infrastructure and networks.
  • Identify project risks, operational challenges, and coordination issues and escalate as appropriate.
  • Develop strong working relationships across terminals, operational groups, contractors, airlines, and stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of technology-driven solutions that align with airport operational requirements.


Mandatory Requirements:

(Candidates must meet all requirements)

  • Minimum 15+ years of professional experience, preferably supporting airport-related projects and operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of airport operations and operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of airport technology systems, infrastructure, and operational equipment.
  • Experience coordinating projects involving Airport Operations, IT teams, contractors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, relationship management, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, organizational, and operational planning skills.
  • Experience working in airport operations, airline operations, terminal management, project management, or related operational environments.
  • Exposure to airport IT, technology infrastructure, or operational systems projects.
  • Experience working across multiple terminals and stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, and PMWeb.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Los Angeles.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting large hub airport projects, operations, or modernization programs.
  • Experience working directly with airport authorities, airline partners, airport contractors, or public-sector stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting airport technology systems such as SITA systems, Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), Airport Operational Database (AODB), Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), airport kiosks, and gate or terminal operational equipment.
  • Experience supporting airport infrastructure modernization programs.
  • Experience leading operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, or cross-functional coordination initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, or similar credentials.
  • Experience supporting large hub airport environments.
