LEAD LINE COOK / JUNIOR SOUS CHEF
An upscale, chef-driven restaurant concept is seeking a strong Lead Line Cook / Junior Sous Chef to join its culinary leadership team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled line cook ready to take the next step into leadership or a current junior-level sous chef looking to grow within a polished, high-energy kitchen environment.
We are seeking someone who thrives in fast-paced service, takes pride in execution, understands urgency without sacrificing quality, and can help lead by example during high-volume shifts. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about food, hospitality, teamwork, and building a long-term culinary career.
The restaurant is known for elevated American cuisine, seafood, steak, scratch cooking, and a vibrant guest experience centered around quality and consistency.
Responsibilities
Lead and support daily line execution during lunch and dinner service
Assist Executive Chef and kitchen leadership with daily operations
Ensure consistency, timing, plating, and food quality standards are maintained
Help train and mentor line cooks, prep cooks, and junior team members
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen
Assist with prep management, station setup, inventory organization, and kitchen systems
Help drive strong communication between front and back of house during service
Support kitchen leadership in maintaining a positive, accountable team culture
Execute at a high level during fast-paced, high-volume service periods
Assist with ordering, prep lists, and operational support as needed
Qualifications
Strong line cook experience in upscale or high-volume restaurant environments
Sous Chef or leadership experience is a plus, but not required
Scratch kitchen experience strongly preferred
Experience with seafood, steak, pasta, and elevated American cuisine preferred
Strong work ethic with the ability to remain composed under pressure
Team-first mentality with strong communication and leadership instincts
Passion for hospitality, food quality, and continuous improvement
Strong understanding of kitchen organization, prep systems, and sanitation standards
