A highly successful, high-volume hospitality group in South Boston is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to help lead culinary operations within one of the area’s most energetic and consistently busy restaurant concepts.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a chef who thrives in fast-paced, chef-driven environments while maintaining strong operational discipline, kitchen leadership, and execution standards. The concept is known for elevated comfort-driven cuisine, a strong brunch business, lively atmosphere, and polished hospitality culture that blends neighborhood energy with high-level culinary consistency.
The Executive Sous Chef will partner closely with senior culinary leadership to oversee daily kitchen operations, drive consistency, support BOH culture, and maintain strong execution across high-volume service periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing all day-to-day BOH operations and culinary execution
- Lead, train, coach, and develop kitchen team members while fostering accountability and professionalism
- Maintain consistency surrounding food quality, presentation, prep systems, sanitation, and execution standards
- Support scheduling, labor management, inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
- Assist with menu execution, seasonal features, and operational improvements
- Ensure strong communication and alignment between FOH and BOH teams
- Maintain calm and organized leadership during high-volume brunch, dinner, and event-driven service periods
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of culinary talent
- Uphold sanitation, safety, and health department standards at all times
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Executive Sous Chef or senior kitchen leadership experience within high-volume upscale casual, chef-driven, tavern, or hospitality-focused restaurant environments
- Strong scratch kitchen background preferred
- Experience leading large teams in fast-paced service environments
- Proven ability to maintain organization and execution under pressure
- Strong understanding of food cost, labor management, inventory, and kitchen systems
- Professional communication skills and hands-on leadership mentality
- Passion for hospitality, culinary development, and team culture
